Newborn Screening in Arkansas increased to 29 metabolic conditions with the implementation of screening for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) on May 01, 2015. In addition, newborn screening for Critical Congenital Heart Disease (CCHD) was implemented on January 5, 2015. With the additions of SCID and CCHD to the Arkansas Newborn Screening Panel (which also includes newborn hearing screening), Arkansas is currently now screening for 31 newborn screening conditions.
